Scenario
I already have a website, I need to change the look and feel. My current websites does not allow users to navigate easily. I need help in marketing and aligning my website with my current business needs.
I would like to give my site users access to electronic versions of the services offered by our company, also improve our communication network with our visitors.
Proposed Solution
Websites today play a major factor in consumer decision making. Although your product or service may be excellent or cutting edge, old sites or websites that are not regularly updated can often be detrimental to your company’s identity and profit potential.
Sites should be updated regularly, have new features added, and by far have working links. However, as the site grows it soon outgrows its foundation. Leading to an unorganized use of content, poor usability, and eventually chaos. A re-design is a perfect opportunity to take an inventory and put things back on track. It will also allow for a better user experience.
Your website could be your cheapest employee. It has already been mentioned that your site could make your day-to-day tasks a thing of the past. By adding features to your site that help educate your user base, enhance marketing efforts, as well as, develop a sense of who your users are you are in reality making your site work harder for you. The simple fact is that you have a site. Why not make it work harder and do more for you and your company? An offshoot of adding features like this is that your users have more interaction with your site and your company.
Design of the portal has to clearly reflect the business expertise and should maximize the user’s experience. The homepage should be visually interesting without being cluttered or difficult to navigate. The design should implement a drop down navigational functionality for a visitor to jump from one channel to another with ease. A uniform navigational flow should be kept throughout the site with the root being the homepage.
Your website should posses a common and consistent theme and address the cross browser and resolution issues. The site should also offer a clean presentation, page by page for users browsing the site.
One of the features that you asked for is to increase your communiction network with your site users. Newsletter is another way to keep the customer in touch. We suggest that you make the efforts in generating fresh, updated and relevant information and incorporate it in a well-designed newsletter. Although, this might take time and require setting aside a dedicated resource to work on this regularly, it is worth the effort and time.
